"No Background Music" -- Play & Talk-Back
This dramatic play stars the playwright Normi Noel in the role of Nurse Penny Rock. The one-woman powerful presentation is, in part, a compilation of letters from Vietnam soldiers -- many near death. The setting is intimate, in a theatre at the Springfield Armory, with weapons aligning one wall, encased in glass, with a light shining on them. The talk-backs following each show include Ms. Rock, Dr. Jarice Hanson (professor at UMass), as well as several Vietnam veterans.
