K-12 Grants
In the interest of improving K-12 humanities education in the Commonwealth, the Foundation makes grants of up to $5,000 to support:
1) professional development opportunities, such as teacher workshops and institutes;
2) curriculum development projects in history, literature, and other humanities disciplines;
3) planning or implementation of a collaboration between one or more teachers and:
- an individual humanist (a living history performer, scholar, or writer) who works with students on one or more occasions,or
- a cultural institution that provides outreach programming.
All K-12 projects must have a strong connection to the curriculum. Teachers must be involved in the planning.
Note: This is the only category in which programs aimed primarily at in-school student audiences will be considered.
