Become a Donor to MFH

The Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities receives funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Massachusetts Cultural Council—but we can only expand to reach new audiences and develop new programs with your help. Donate online or fill out the gift form and return it with your gift to MFH, 66 Bridge Street, Northampton, MA 01060.

Thank you!

Become an Advocate

The Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities funds public humanities programs throughout the Commonwealth with largely public money — your money — which comes to us through the National Endowment for the Humanities and the state legislature via the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

We believe — and we know you believe — that it's important for our elected government to support humanities programming at both the federal and state levels.

And there is no more powerful an advocate for what we fund than you!

If you're a grant applicant, if you've attended a Foundation-funded program, watched a public television program or heard a public radio broadcast we've funded — or if you're a state resident who cares about the humanities — there's a lot you can do to support your state humanities program:

If you receive a grant, write to your state and/or federal legislator to thank them for their continuing support of the humanities. Be sure to invite them to your program, and write to them afterward about your program's success.

If you are not a grant applicant, write to your legislators anyway — especially during the budget planning season — to encourage ongoing and increased legislative support of the humanities. Explain what the humanities mean to you and to your community, and try describe definitive results or outcomes.
